Homemade Playdough

It's summertime {yessssss} and I've been hunting for some fun things to do with my kiddies to keep them busy. I found this playdough recipe over at Skip to My Lou and I LOVE it! It's very soft and lasts for a long time if you put it in a container in the fridge.

These little dough balls would be cute to give away as party favors or as an inexpensive gift, complete with little tools to use! Kids love this stuff!

I love that recipe too! And I just caught up on your Chocolate Torte from Heaven post... I LOVE your humor! I can just see myself doing the same thing at a friend's house. :D

That's awesome! This would be cool to make and give as a gift at a birthday party too! Thanks!

I usually love your ideas, but homemade playdough? No way! The smell of authentic playdough, like the smell of Crayola crayons, is a classic part of childhood. And the real stuff is pretty inexpensive, too! I am looking forward to trying the torte, though. :)

Hey Abs! Saw your post about playdough, and you inspired me to make it for Fries and the Blakester! I added a pack of unsweetened Koolaid to the dry ingredients, and it came out pre-colored and smells terrific! Thanks for the push to make some summer fun for the boys!!! <3 YA!

Thanks for the inspiration. I made it for a friend and her kids while we were visiting. Let's just say, in less than 2 seconds (the amount of time to have your head turned), did the playdough get smeared all over the walls. Good thing my friend is such a good sport and laughed. The kids had a lot of fun playing with it and I had a good time making it.
