The Purl Bee Granny Square

This is the BEST site with instructions on how to crochet a granny square! I've been interested in learning how for a while, but I gave up a while back after several failed attempts to teach myself. Then I found these instructions on one of my MOST favorite blog sites, The Purl Bee, and I couldn't be more pleased! Now off I go to try it out...

I'm interested in doing up a funky afghan this winter with some cool, bold & bright colors like these photos!

I just today discovered your blog, and I am quite happy that I did.

I'm an amateur knitter/crocheter, and I inherited all my hook and needles, and a lot of yarn, from my Granny who I never had the fortune to know. My grandma (Granny's neice) has a lot of the afghans that she made, and I love them! And I've wanted for a while now to recreate some of them for my own family, but I never knew any of the patterns.

But lo and behold, I stumble upon your blog and find one of the patterns that she used. So, thank you for leading me to the purl bee blog and this granny square and I look forward to making my own afghans, and reading more of your blog.

Thanks,
Kelsie
