Conflicted

It's cold, gray, and dreary outside. I SHOULD be getting my tight work-out pants on that reveal my belly fat like nothing you've ever seen, and my work-out top that sucks it all back in (sort of) where it needs to be, and on my way to burning the extra 10,000 calories I consumed at dinner last night. But what I WANT to do is sit here in my warm, bright, cheerful house with a cup of dreamy cocoa (an extra 3,000 calories) and read my new book and laugh the day away. However, what I HAVE to do is clean out my closets, clean the basement (a.k.a. my craft dungeon), pay bills, and do laundry since it hasn't been done for 15 days. GROSS. I'm tired just thinking about it all.

Do you see why I'm conflicted?! I'm not complaining, though. How nice to have options. It's times like this where I'll probably putter around doing odd jobs so as to APPEAR like I've done something today, you know, for the 'ol conscience - but none of my big to-do list will get touched. WHY?! Why can't I be organized and motivated and responsible and clean?! I guess I better go get some cocoa and think about it...

Happy Veteran's Day, by the way! I love those Veterans!

Ha ha, I get the same way when it's cold outside...I just want a warm drink, good book, and a comfy couch. I use it as motivation to at least start to tackle my to do list. Good luck getting through your list!!

I am so very happy to hear that i am not the only one that struggles to get it all done! I try and work like a wild woman in the morning and then when my little monster is down for a nap and my three "big" kids are at school, I indulge myself with a down throw and a good book! (and sometimes a little nap!) It is one of my greatest pleasures in life! JUST SAY NO TO GUILT!! :)

My inlaws arrive this afternoon soooo....there's my motivation. Yet here I sit in my dirty cleaning-the-house-clothes listening to the dryer running pretending I have a few minutes to indulge in blogging and eating my kids' halloween candy, haha! I SO want some cocoa---yum!

This is exactly me today!!

I have so much I *should* be doing, but sitting here blog surfing with my eggnog latte is so much more fun. :)

Staying in cozy clothes curled up with cocoa and that book sounds like HEAVEN. That book sounds AWESOME! Please tell us about it when you're finished.

Happy day wishes to you! Hoping you can knock out some of your big to do list items and yet still enjoy the day home!

I seem to be a bit older - all four kids grown, two out and two back home, but old enough to do their own clean up. So what I'm trying to get to is; good for you!!! When my kids were little I ran myself ragged trying to do it all. As a result, many years later, my health suffered for it.So I say drink all the hot cocoa you want, leave the workout clothes in the drawer to keep each other company, throw up your feet and take as much time as you need to relax and do whatever you want to do. You are worth it!!! That's what I'm doing these days and I'm loving it.

I am so like that everyday. I find that there is always an errand to run, so that I can forget about house work. I have also learned that it is best to have the children do a fast clean-up right before my husband comes home from work. That way the day of cleaning is not destroyed so fast.

Haha! How nice to know that I'm not the only one who feels like this A LOT!

HOWEVER...I did manage to clean out TWO closets and do 3 loads of laundry - in pj's. Saweet! I consider the day a success.

Looks like the winter blues are setting in early. Mike said it snowed the other day. Did you guys get much up there?

No snow - YET - thank goodness. I'm not ready for that yet!

UGH! I am going through the same thing. Why does every thing that tastes devine have to have a million calories per bite?

I want some hot chocolate. I also have the whole belly fat thing going. Winter does not help at all. Ya know..with all the stick to the ribs meals. UGH!!! Oh well...I keep telling myself everything in moderation. I wish I could just listen to my own advice!
