Cute Brooch

Alright - I swear I'm going to make a hundred of these brooches! Think of the COLOR possibilities! What a great holiday gift! They are so easy and I'm pretty sure they're not geeky. Are they? Maybe I am a geek.

You can pin these to a purse, a hat, a scarf, your sweater/jacket, baby clips, etc. AND! (as Design Gal said below) you can pin these to a present as a bow and it's part of the gift! Thanks Design Gal!

I didn't find any cute felt, I don't have time or patience to make some, so I used fleece instead and it worked fine. (plus it was 40% off yesterday, so that makes sense, right?)

So if you missed the tutorial link, it's HERE. And you really should watch the video link HERE because Betz White shows you how to clip the back leaf and attach the pin correctly.

I experimented a little here and I really like the look of the blanket stitch on the leaves. Great! Now my plain leaves look lame. If you'd like a fun tutorial on that, go HERE.

I have been checking out your blog for some time. I really like your ideas. My parents live in Michigan, what part of the hand do you live in?

Ew, geeky. So geeky, I can't read your blog anymore.

Get real. Those are freakin' adorable.

What a great idea. I have a very boring black fleece hat for winter that is screaming for some color and excitement. This should do the trick. Thanks!

Did you get much snow today?

Geeky?? Are you kidding? I love these! I just wish I had time to try them out! Maybe I will though and pick up yet another craft! Your blog is not the place for a woman who doesn't have enough hours in the day!

These are FABULOUS!! I wish I was as crafty minded as you and realized that I COULD have used fleece because I couldn't find more than one shade of pink felt to save my life! I did end up with several different colors of felt from the many stores that I went to and I've made one flower so far and am planning on SEVERAL more tonight once the kiddies are in bed! p.s. I LOVE your blog! You're my kind of geek! ;)

Very cute, not nerdy! I love them, and I love that you too are the enrichment counselor there. I'm in Utah, and am doing the same thing. I love your blog because it fuels good ideas for just such a job! And I loved the 'conflict' that you described there...every day is like that for me too! Thanks for a great blog! (mine is private, but you can come and check out my business one if you'd like: www.cocoabeancakes.com)
